Subject: The Day the Music Died
Anyone who was a teenager in the winter of 1959 remembers where he was when Richie Vallens, Buddy Holly, and "the Big Bopper" died in the plane crash. Although Elvis was still popular at this time, though he was in the service, Buddy Holly and Richie Vallens had demonstrated that they were contenders for the throne of the Rock and Rock King. Their death was the inspiration for the song, "American Pie."
